For more than 60 years, we have been developing fans for tractors, harvesters, combine harvesters, sprayers, excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, skid-steer loaders, and a whole host of other industrial equipment. We always strive to break new ground and test limits with our partners.
Renowned manufacturers value the outstanding quality and performance of our Cleanfix reversible fans. AGCO (FENDT, VALTRA), CNH (NEW HOLLAND, CASE IH), JCB, KOMATSU, MERCEDES-BENZ, MERLO, BOMAG FAYAT GROUP, VOLVO, KRONE, MANITOU, CLAAS, OXBO, and many others integrate the Cleanfix reversible fan into their machines – either at the customer’s request or directly as standard.
Right where you need us: We have three development and manufacturing sites around the world and provide outstanding customer service via sales partners in more than 25 countries.
We cannot deny it: it’s part of our DNA. The fascination for technology and the question of how construction, municipal, agricultural, forestry, waste, and recycling machines can be further improved have driven us onward – for decades and across generations.
1958
Our roots lie in agricultural technology
Ludwig Hägele opens an agricultural machinery shop in Göggingen, Germany. He thus lays the foundation for our international company with locations and customers around the world.
1975
Schorndorf, Germany, is the heart of our company
When Hägele purchases the Frank agricultural machinery company, Schorndorf becomes the new company headquarters. From now on, this location will pave the way for our company’s further successful development.
1980
Inventions that really make a difference
In the 1980s, we continually develop technical solutions that make agricultural machines more versatile and powerful: Schwenkfix for rotary mowers, Swingstop for power lifts and front loaders as well as tractors with a panoramic view.
1990
The same enthusiasm from generation to generation
Hägele GmbH is founded. The brothers Karl and Martin Hägele serve as the managing directors. Under their leadership, in the early 1990s Hägele develops cab suspension and presents it at Agritechnica 1990 with resounding success.
We develop the first Cleanfix reversible fan and apply for a patent. The idea is equally simple and brilliant: By turning the blades in the direction to blow out, the radiator is effectively cleaned. This is the birth of our Cleanfix brand.
1998
Cleanfix: A surprise for tractor manufacturers
With the help of his friends, Karl Hägele develops a tractor fan that not only draws air in to cool the engine but also blows contamination out of the radiator. The first prototypes were a hit!
1999
Award-winning! In its first year
The idea is thoroughly convincing. The Cleanfix reversible fan is awarded the German Agricultural Society’s gold medal at Agritechnica 1999 in Hanover, Germany.
2003
Keeping our eyes on the prize: Always become better
Success doesn’t mean it’s time to rest; build upon that success. Cleanfix Variable Pitch for adjusting the cooling requirements is introduced, new hubs (C220, C225, C300) are launched on the market, the company is certified to ISO 9001.
2005
Tip-top design: Flex-Tips
Cleanfix reversible fans become even more efficient when the Cleanfix Flex-Tips are launched. The special design of the flexible blade tips effectively reduces air recirculation, thus providing maximum power at low energy consumption.
2009
Still achieving excellence
In collaboration with the University of Karlsruhe, we develop, build, and put into operation our own wind tunnel. The electronically controlled Cleanfix Pulstronic reversible fan receives the German Agricultural Society’s silver medal at Agritechnica 2009.
The wide range of possible applications and the ease of retrofitting various engines with Cleanfix reversible fans unleashes tremendous demand. The distribution network evolves worldwide.
2010
The big leap to Canada
Customer orientation is part of the Cleanfix concept: We establish our Canadian branch, Cleanfix North America Inc., in Stratford in our own building with manufacturing, service, and sales.
2012
Close to our customers in Ankara
Hägele GmbH founds Cleanfix Makina to establish our own manufacturing plant in Turkey and expand our service and sales network in that region.
2013
Cleanfix launches larger sizes
Hub C252 is launched on the market. Thanks to our new hub, we can now offer Cleanfix reversible fans up to a diameter of 1300 mm for large machines.
2014
Our range now includes major components
So far, only individual components have been produced in-house. Investments in new CNC machines allow us to manufacture major components as well. This means we have control over even more quality factors.
2015
Patented hydraulics
Exactly what the market has been waiting for: Hydraulic reversible fans. Our patented smart seal sealing system ensures leakage-free fans. In this case, innovation makes a crucial difference.
Benjamin Hägele and Steffen Hägele join their father, Karl Hägele, as CEOs of the successful family enterprise. Hägele GmbH is thus ideally prepared for the future.
2017
Benjamin Hägele joins the executive management team
As the second managing director alongside his father Karl Hägele, Benjamin Hägele heads up the successful family enterprise Hägele GmbH. He built up the local branch in Canada from 2009 to 2011 and has been managing director in Turkey since 2012.
2017
Test department greatly expanded
We invest in high tech to thoroughly test everything: Fan testing rigs, heat bath, acid bath, climatic chamber, leakage test station, test rig for electrical components and much more. That’s because quality and practical benefits don’t come by chance.
2019
A milestone for Cleanfix
The 100,000th reversible fan from the production facility in Germany is installed in a Case Optum 270 in Canada and delivered to farmer James Armitage.
2019
Steffen Hägele becomes third managing director
Together with his father Karl Hägele and his older brother Benjamin Hägele, Steffen Hägele is “truly honored” to lead the successful family enterprise and its branches into the future.
2021
Strong solutions for rail transport
Rail vehicle designers also recognize the benefits of Cleanfix reversible fans: Less downtime and lower service costs are strong arguments and open up a new, exciting sales market for Hägele GmbH.
A major step. Karl Hägele transfers company leadership to his sons, Benjamin and Steffen. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the company story.
2021
A new generation at the helm of Hägele GmbH
Karl Hägele steps down from the executive management team and hands over the reins to Benjamin Hägele and Steffen Hägele. “I am delighted about this change and extremely grateful to everyone involved,” says Karl.
2021
First virtual Cleanfix distributor conference
A mammoth online project: On two days, in three cycles, across all time zones, with a professional camera team, all Cleanfix distributors around the world are brought up-to-date.
2021
Metplex GmbH is now part of Hägele GmbH
Hägele teams up with a strong IT partner whose core competencies will benefit us and our business customers when it comes to digital transformation. Martin Pfeiffer takes over operational management.
2021
Sales center in Germany moves
Cleanfix Sales sends a clear signal by moving into a new, larger building with a modern infrastructure: Digitalization of the processes, expansion of the department, and the new spatial capacities give Cleanfix a lot of space for healthy growth.
2021
Quality and capacity increased during corona pandemic
This makes us proud: By implementing Industry 4.0 processes, production in single-shift operation was doubled to 20,000 units. OEMs view Cleanfix as a benchmark for auditing medium-sized companies.
To achieve the best possible vehicle performance, all components of the cooling system must be coordinated with each other. For this reason, the Hägele Group expands its product and service portfolio.
2022
Well-equipped for future challenges
With the acquisition of the company site adjacent to our headquarters in Germany, we’re responding to the constant growth in our order volume. Soon we’ll be able to start a second production line in plant 2 and manufacture up to 40,000 fans per year.
2022
A development in terms of management
Companies cannot develop in a healthy manner without excellent managers. Working together with management consultants from Expand, we develop and establish a program to support and train managers.
2022
The cornerstone of our outstanding corporate culture
Hägele GmbH’s mission statement is based on the six core values of honesty, commitment, excellence, courage, humility, and cooperation. These values have shaped the company and are important guidelines in our daily work.
2023
New test rig for complete radiator packages
The new test chamber can measure both fans and radiator packages as well as scaled-down models. Together with our OEMs, we are using the new test rig to determine the exact efficiency of quiet, energy-efficient radiator modules.
2023
Organizational development – unleashing potential within our company
The new company size and its current growth call for restructuring. We are working intensively on this goal in newly established committees such as leadership and strategy development, as well as in numerous other working groups.
